Adama Acemain is a broad-spectrum, systemic, and contact insecticide containing Acephate 75% SP (Soluble Powder) as its active ingredient. Its dual systemic and contact action ensures both immediate knockdown and long-lasting protection as it is absorbed by plant tissues.
Crop-Wise Applications, Pests, and Dosages
Crop Category | Target Crops | Target Pests | Dosage per Acre |
Commercial Crops | Cotton, Paddy, Groundnut, Sugarcane | Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Bollworms, Stem Borers | 400 – 800 grams (depending on pest severity) |
Vegetable Crops | Chili, Tomato, Brinjal, Cabbage, Okra | Thrips, Fruit Borers, Leafhoppers, Diamondback Moth | 350 – 500 grams |
Fruit & Horticulture Crops | Citrus, Mango, Grapes, Pomegranate | Mealybugs, Aphids, Thrips, Fruit Borers | 400 – 600 grams (or 1.5 to 2 grams per liter of water) |
Note on Dilution: Mix the recommended quantity of Acemain thoroughly in a small volume of water first, then add it to the final spray tank volume (typically 200 liters per acre for field crops) to ensure uniform coverage.
Best Time to Spray
Time of Day: Spray during the early morning or late afternoon. Avoid spraying during peak sunlight hours or high temperatures, as rapid evaporation reduces efficacy and can cause crop stress.
Weather Conditions: Apply when rainfall is not expected for at least 4 to 6 hours to allow the product to be properly absorbed by the foliage.
Pest Threshold: Initiate spraying when pest populations cross the economic threshold level (ETL), rather than waiting for heavy infestation.
Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear protective gear, including rubber gloves, face masks, eye goggles, and long-sleeved clothing during mixing and application.
Handling: Do not eat, drink, smoke, or chew tobacco while handling or spraying the chemical. Avoid breathing spray mist and prevent direct contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental Protection: Keep away from water bodies, ponds, and streams, as Acemain is toxic to aquatic life and beneficial insects like bees.
