Bayer Admire is a world-class, high-performance systemic insecticide developed by Bayer. Its active ingredient is Imidacloprid at a concentration of 70% WG (Water-Dispersible Granules).
Because of its high-strength WG formulation (manufactured using advanced fluid-bed granulation technology), it dissolves instantly in water without leaving dust or clogging nozzles. It works by acting as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist in the central nervous system of insects, causing rapid paralysis and death. It protects crops from within by moving systemically through roots and foliage.
Key Benefits of Bayer Admire (70% WG)
Broad-Spectrum Control: Highly effective against major sucking pests like Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whiteflies, and Plant Hoppers.
Systemic Action: Quickly absorbed by plant leaves and roots, ensuring total protection from the inside out.
Phytotonic Effect: Promotes healthier, greener, and more vigorous plant growth, helping crops withstand environmental stress.
Cost-Effective: High concentration means a lower dosage requirement per acre compared to liquid SL formulations.
Crop-Wise Dosage and Usage Table
While Imidacloprid 70% WG is broadly used across various commercial, vegetable, and horticultural fields to manage sucking pest complexes, standard recommended guidelines include:
Crop Category | Specific Crops | Target Pests | Dosage per Acre | Dosage per 15L Pump |
Commercial / Field Crops | Cotton, Paddy (Rice) | Jassids, Aphids, Thrips, Whiteflies, Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) | 30 g – 60 g (Depending on pest pressure) | 3 g – 4.5 g |
Vegetable Crops | Okra (Bhindi), Tomato, Chilli, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower | Jassids, Aphids, Thrips, Whiteflies | 30 g – 50 g | 3 g – 4 g |
Fruits & Horticulture Crops | Citrus, Pomegranate, Mango, Cucurbits (Cucumber, Bitter Gourd) | Aphids, Thrips, Mealybugs, Hoppers | 0.3 g per Liter of water | 4.5 g |
Note: For general garden or multi-crop usage, the standard mixing ratio is 0.3 grams per Liter of water (approx. 4.5 grams per 15-liter backpack pump).
Best Time to Spray
Growth Stage: Apply at the very first appearance of sucking pests or when insect colonies start forming. Early intervention prevents population explosions.
Time of Day: Spray during the early morning or late afternoon. Avoid spraying during peak sunlight hours (when temperatures are very high) or when strong winds are blowing.
Weather: Spray only when rainfall is not expected for the next 4 to 6 hours to allow proper foliar absorption. Avoid spraying during heavy bee-foraging times to protect pollinators.
Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear rubber gloves, a face mask, safety goggles, and full-sleeve clothing while mixing and spraying.
Handling Rules: Do not eat, drink, smoke, or chew tobacco while handling the chemical.
Storage: Keep the product securely locked in its original container, in a cool, dry place, completely out of the reach of children, livestock, and pets.
Environmental Safety: Do not contaminate water bodies, fish ponds, or drainage channels with leftover spray solution or container washings.
Post-Spray Care: Thoroughly wash your hands, face, and exposed skin with soap and clean water immediately after application. Wash contaminated clothing separately.
