Bayer Alion Plus is a broad-spectrum, non-selective herbicide containing a powerful dual-action
formulation: Indaziflam 1.65% w/w + Glyphosate Isopropylammonium 44.63% w/w SC (Suspension Concentrate).
This combination provides both immediate knockdown control (through Glyphosate, which kills existing emerged weeds) and long-lasting residual control (through Indaziflam, which creates a chemical barrier in the soil to prevent new weed seeds from germinating). It is ideal for targeted weed management in non-crop areas, industrial sites, and as a directed/inter-row spray in established plantations and orchards.
Crop Application & Dosage Guide
Disclaimer: Alion Plus contains Glyphosate and Indaziflam, which are non-selective. Always use directed or inter-row sprayers with protective hoods to prevent spray drift from contacting the green parts, foliage, or trunks of desirable crop plants.
Crop Category | Target Weeds | Recommended Dosage | Remarks / Application Method |
Commercial Crops (e.g., Cotton, Sugarcane, Corn) | Annual and perennial grass and broadleaf weeds | As per local agricultural recommendations (typically 1.5 to 2.5 L/acre diluted in water) | Apply as a directed spray between crop rows. Avoid any contact with the crop foliage. Best used in older, established crops with woody bark. |
Vegetable Crops (Field preparation / Inter-row) | Germinating and actively growing weeds | Follow product label guidelines based on weed intensity | Strictly for inter-row directed weeding or burndown weed control prior to planting/transplanting. Do not allow spray to touch vegetable plants. |
Fruits & Horticulture (e.g., Citrus, Mango, Apple, Vineyards) | Hard-to-kill perennial weeds and annual flushes | 2.0 to 3.0 L/acre (depending on weed spectrum and soil type) | Apply as a base/ring weeding spray around the base of well-established trees with woody trunks. Ensure spray does not hit low-hanging branches or fruit. |
Best Time to Spray
Growth Stage of Weeds: Most effective when applied to actively growing, young weeds (post-emergence) while simultaneously targeting the soil before new weed seeds germinate.
Weather Conditions:
Spray on a calm, windless day to prevent drift onto valuable crops.
Apply when soil moisture is adequate, as soil-residual activity works best in moist soil conditions.
Avoid spraying if rain is expected within 4 to 6 hours.
Time of Day: Early morning or late afternoon is ideal to avoid extreme midday heat and high evaporation rates.
Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective goggles, a face mask/respirator, long-sleeved shirts, and long pants during mixing and application.
Drift Management: Use low-pressure flat-fan nozzles equipped with a spray hood/shield to strictly direct the spray downward and away from crop foliage.
Equipment Safety: Never eat, drink, smoke, or chew tobacco while handling or spraying. Thoroughly wash sprayers, nozzles, and protective gear with clean water after application.
Environmental Protection: Do not contaminate water bodies, streams, ponds, or drainage systems with leftover spray solution or container wash water.
