Bayer Antracol is a trusted, broad-spectrum contact fungicide featuring Propineb 70% WP (Wettable Powder). It works through a multi-site mode of action that disrupts vital fungal metabolism, stopping spores from germinating and preventing infections from spreading.
A unique advantage of Antracol is its enrichment with active Zinc, which provides a dual benefit: it acts as a powerful disease shield while releasing micronutrient zinc to improve plant vigor, leaf greenness, and overall produce quality.
Crop Application & Dosage Guide
Antracol is widely used across commercial fields, vegetables, fruits, and horticulture crops.
Crop Category | Target Diseases | Recommended Dosage | Remarks / Application Method |
Commercial Crops (e.g., Rice/Paddy, Cotton) | Brown leaf spot, Narrow leaf spot, Alternaria leaf spot | 500 – 800 g per acre (approx. 2.0 to 2.5 g per liter of water) | Apply as a uniform foliar spray when initial spots or weather conditions favor disease development. |
Vegetable Crops (Tomato, Potato, Chilli, etc.) | Early & Late Blight, Die-back, Fruit Rot, Buckeye Rot | 500 – 600 g per acre (approx. 2.0 to 2.5 g per liter of water) | Ensure complete coverage on both upper and lower leaf surfaces. Repeat every 7 to 14 days if pressure is high. |
Fruits & Horticulture (Grapes, Pomegranate, Apple, Mango) | Downy Mildew, Scab, Anthracnose, Leaf & Fruit Spots | 500 – 600 g per acre (approx. 2.0 to 2.5 g per liter of water) | Highly effective for orchard spray programs. Provides great rainfastness once dried on the foliage. |
Best Time to Spray
Preventive Application: For the best results, use Antracol preventively before disease symptoms aggressively breakout, especially during humid, cloudy, or rainy weather.
Time of Day: Spray during the early morning or late afternoon. Avoid spraying under direct, harsh midday sun or high temperatures.
Weather Check: Avoid application if rain is forecasted immediately, though its fine particle suspension offers good rainfastness once settled.
Spray Interval: Re-apply at intervals of 7 to 14 days depending on local weather conditions and disease severity.
Safety Precautions
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear rubber gloves, protective goggles, a face mask/respirator, and full-coverage clothing during mixing and application.
Handling Safety: Do not eat, drink, smoke, or chew tobacco while handling the powder or spraying. Avoid inhaling the spray mist or direct skin contact.
Post-Application Care: Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after the task. Clean and rinse spray equipment thoroughly.
Environmental Protection: Keep away from ponds, fish tanks, and water streams to prevent aquatic contamination.
