FMC Azaka Duo is a premix, broad-spectrum systemic fungicide formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC) containing Azoxystrobin 18.2% + Difenoconazole 11.4% w/w SC. It unites two distinct chemical classes—a Strobilurin (QoI) and a Triazole (DMI)—providing dual-action preventive, curative, and translaminar protection against major plant diseases while promoting plant vigor and crop greening.
How the Formulation Works (Mode of Action)
Azoxystrobin (18.2% w/w) – Group 11 (Strobilurin): Inhibits fungal mitochondrial respiration by blocking electron transfer at complex III (QoI). It halts ATP/energy synthesis, preventing fungal spore germination and penetration. It also delivers a notable phytotonic "greening" effect, lowering ethylene production and prolonging active photosynthesis.
Difenoconazole (11.4% w/w) – Group 3 (Triazole): Inhibits sterol biosynthesis (C14-demethylation) in fungal cell membranes. This arrests hyphal growth and cleans up established infections inside the plant tissue (curative and eradicative power).
Systemic & Translaminar Mobility: Quickly penetrates the leaf surface, distributes through xylem vessels toward new growth, and moves across the leaf blade to defend untreated surfaces.

Best Time and Conditions to Spray
Crop Stage / Infection Window: Apply at the first visual sign of disease onset or preventively during weather conditions favorable to fungal spread (high humidity above 80%, intermittent rain, morning dew).
Time of Day: Spray in the early morning (before 10:00 AM) or late afternoon/evening (after 4:30 PM). Avoid peak mid-day heat and direct harsh sunlight, which accelerate evaporation and stress plant foliage.
Weather: Spray only when wind speed is calm to minimize drift. Ensure clear skies for at least 2 to 3 hours post-application so the systemic active ingredients absorb fully into leaf cuticles.
Coverage: Use a hollow cone nozzle for thorough, uniform foliage coverage. For crops like paddy (sheath blight), direct the spray toward lower stem sheaths near the soil/water line.
Safety Precautions and Handling
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear chemical-resistant rubber gloves, safety goggles, protective clothing, and a face mask during measuring and spraying.
Avoid Personal Contamination: Do not eat, drink, chew tobacco, or smoke while handling or applying the chemical. Wash face and hands thoroughly with soap and water before meals and take a bath after field operations.

Mixing Discipline: Always shake the bottle well prior to measuring, as SC formulations settle during storage. Pre-mix the required measure in a small bucket of clean water before transferring to the main tank
