PI Brofreya is a cutting-edge, next-generation insecticide powered by the innovative active ingredient Broflanilide. It represents a major breakthrough in pest management, specifically designed to control the most difficult-to-kill chewing pests, including those that have developed high levels of resistance to traditional chemistries.
Product Overview
Technical Name: Broflanilide 20% SC (Suspension Concentrate)
Chemical Group: Meta-Diamides (IRAC Group 30)
Mode of Action: It is a GABA-gated chloride channel allosteric modulator. Brofreya acts on the insect’s nervous system, causing over-excitation and paralysis. It is a contact and stomach insecticide with excellent translaminar movement, ensuring protection on both sides of the leaf.
Special Features:
New Mode of Action: Effective against pests that are resistant to Organophosphates, Pyrethroids, and even some newer Diamides.
Tenebenal Technology: Developed to provide superior control over the entire Lepidoptera (caterpillar) family.
Excellent Rainfastness: Once dried, the formulation is highly resistant to being washed away by rain.
Key Benefits
Rapid Feeding Cessation: Pests stop feeding within minutes of exposure, providing immediate crop protection.
Long Duration of Control: A single application can provide extended protection, reducing the total number of sprays needed per season.
Highly Potent: Works at relatively low dosages while providing a very high "kill rate" even on older larval stages.
Crop Safety: Safe for a wide range of crops when used at the recommended dosages.
Recommended Uses & Dosage
Brofreya is primarily targeted at high-value vegetable and field crops facing severe caterpillar pressure.

Application Instructions
Timing: For best results, apply at the early larval stages (1st or 2nd instar). Monitor the crop regularly and spray as soon as the first signs of infestation appear.
Coverage: Ensure thorough coverage of the plant canopy. The Suspension Concentrate (SC) formulation allows for easy mixing and uniform distribution.
Resistance Management: To prevent resistance, avoid using Brofreya more than twice in a single crop cycle. Rotate it with insecticides from different IRAC groups.
Safety Precautions
Safety Gear: Always wear protective clothing, gloves, and a face mask during mixing and application.
Storage: Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place, strictly away from children, pets, and food items.
Honeybees: Brofreya is toxic to bees. Avoid spraying during the active flowering stage when bees are visiting the crop.
Waiting Period (PHI): Follow the recommended Pre-Harvest Interval (usually 3–7 days for vegetables) to ensure safe produce.
