Tata Rallis Capstone is a specialized, dual-action systemic fungicide formulated as Fenoxanil 5% + Isoprothiolane 30% EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate). It is engineered to control fungal infections, serving as a dedicated solution against all stages of blast—particularly Leaf Blast, Node Blast, and Neck Blast (Rotten Neck)—while providing strong curative action against sheath blight.
Technical Profile & Dual Mode of Action
Active Ingredients: Fenoxanil 5% + Isoprothiolane 30% EC.
Formulation: Emulsifiable Concentrate (EC).
Fenoxanil (5%): A Melanin Biosynthesis Inhibitor (MBI). It blocks appressorium melanization, preventing fungal penetration into plant tissue. It acts as a protective shield stopping fungal spores from penetrating host leaves.
Isoprothiolane (30%): A systemic dithiolane fungicide that disrupts cell membrane lipid biosynthesis and inhibits mycelial elongation. It translocates throughout plant tissues to eliminate established mycelia inside infected areas.
Preventive & Curative Dual Power: Combining an entry blocker with a systemic curer stops infection early and arrests active fungal growth.
Phytotonic Effect: Induces natural host defense proteins, promoting greener leaves, delaying premature senescence, and improving grain filling and panicle development.
Crop Application, Disease Targets & Dosage Chart
While Paddy/Rice is the primary registered target for blast management, the active combination is also employed across commercial, horticultural, and vegetable crops against blast, leaf spots, and stem blights:
Crop Category | Target Crops | Target Diseases Controlled | Recommended Dosage (per Liter) | Recommended Dosage (per Acre) | Water Volume (per Acre) |
Cereal Crops (Primary Target) | Paddy (Rice) | Leaf Blast, Node Blast, Neck Blast (Pyricularia oryzae), Sheath Blight | 2.0 – 2.5 ml / L | 400 ml / acre | 150 – 200 Liters |
Commercial & Millet Crops | Pearl Millet (Bajra), Finger Millet (Ragi), Sugarcane | Finger/Neck Blast, Leaf Spot, Sheath Rot | 2.0 ml / L | 350 – 400 ml / acre | 150 – 200 Liters |
Vegetable Crops | Chilli, Onion, Tomato, Legumes | Early Leaf Spot, Anthracnose, Stem Blight | 1.5 – 2.0 ml / L | 300 – 400 ml / acre | 150 – 200 Liters |
Fruit & Horticulture Crops | Pomegranate, Citrus, Grapes | Spot diseases, Twig Blight, Anthracnose suppression | 2.0 ml / L | 400 – 500 ml / acre | 250 – 300 Liters |
Optimal Spray Timing
Rice Neck Blast Critical Window: Timing is essential for neck blast control. Spray at the late booting stage to 5–10% panicle emergence. Once neck blast rot appears on the panicle base, structural damage cannot be reversed.
Leaf Blast / Vegetative Stage: Apply immediately upon seeing the first spindle-shaped, gray-centered lesions on leaves before canopy spread.
Time of Day: Spray during early morning (before 9:30 AM) or late afternoon (after 4:30 PM) to allow proper absorption and avoid high daytime evaporation.
Canopy Penetration: Use a knapsack sprayer with a hollow cone nozzle to deliver an even mist across both the upper flag leaves and lower culms/sheaths.
Repeat Application: If high humidity, cloudy skies, or high nitrogen application sustain disease pressure, repeat application after 10–14 days.
Safety Precautions & Handling
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear long sleeves, chemically resistant rubber/nitrile gloves, splash goggles, and an organic vapor face mask while measuring, mixing, and spraying.
Mixing & Compatibility: Do not mix with highly alkaline chemicals or copper-based compounds (such as Bordeaux mixture). Always conduct a small jar test before tank-mixing with other agrochemicals.
