Rallis Clue (Pymetrozine 50% WG) – Product Overview

Rallis Clue is a world-class, selective insecticide featuring Pymetrozine 50% WG. It is specifically designed to target and eliminate sap-sucking insects, most notably the Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) in Rice. It belongs to the pyridine azomethine chemical class and is known for its unique "anti-feeding" action that provides immediate crop protection.

Key Features & Mode of Action

  • Immediate Feeding Cessation: Unlike traditional poisons, Clue works by paralyzing the insect's mouthparts. Within minutes of exposure, the pest stops feeding, preventing any further damage to the crop.

  • Systemic & Translaminar Action: The product is easily absorbed by the leaves and moved throughout the plant’s vascular system. It also moves from the top of the leaf to the bottom, ensuring pests hiding underneath are eliminated.

  • Unique Mode of Action: It interferes with the nervous system's control over salivary pumps and sucking mechanisms. Pests remain on the plant but eventually die of starvation within 2–4 days.

  • Excellent WG Formulation: The Water Dispersible Granule (WG) formulation is user-friendly, dissolves quickly, and does not clog spray nozzles.

Key Benefits

  1. Hopper Specialist: It is considered one of the best treatments for BPH in Rice, even in cases where pests have shown resistance to other chemicals.

  2. Prevents Disease Transmission: By stopping the feeding of sucking pests instantly, it effectively reduces the spread of viral diseases like Rice Tungro Virus or Leaf Curl.

  3. Safety for Beneficials: Clue is highly selective; it targets sucking pests while being safe for many natural predators like spiders and ladybird beetles, making it ideal for Integrated Pest Management (IPM).

  4. Weather Resistant: Once absorbed into the plant tissue, it is highly rain-fast and provides long-lasting protection (up to 12–14 days).

Application & Safety Guidelines

  • Targeting the Base: When spraying in Paddy for BPH, ensure the spray nozzle is directed toward the base of the plant, as hoppers typically congregate near the water line.

  • Water Volume: Use at least 200 liters of water per acre to ensure the entire plant canopy and stem are thoroughly drenched.

  • Timing: Apply at the first appearance of hoppers or when the population reaches the Economic Threshold Level (ETL).

  • Safety: Always use personal protective equipment. Store in a cool, dry place away from food and animal feed.

Note: For sustainable pest management, avoid consecutive applications of the same chemical class. Use Clue as part of a rotation strategy with other products like Tatamida or Clasto.
