FMC Corprima is an advanced, high-concentration insecticide powered by Rynaxypyr® technology, formulated as Chlorantraniliprole 35% w/w WDG (Water-Dispersible Granule). Engineered for superior pest knockdown and extended residual protection, its high-strength granule formulation disperses readily in water to protect high-value commercial, vegetable, fruit, and horticultural crops from damaging lepidopteran pests.

Technical Profile & Mode of Action

  • Chemical Group: Anthranilic Diamide (IRAC Group 28).

  • Active Ingredient: Chlorantraniliprole 35% w/w WDG.

  • Mode of Action: Ryanodine receptor activation. It selectively binds to ryanodine receptors in the insect’s muscle cells, releasing uncontrolled internal calcium reserves. This triggers:

  • Immediate Cessation of Feeding: Insects stop damaging crop tissue within minutes.

  • Muscle Paralysis & Lethargy: Pests lose mobility and coordination.

  • Complete Mortality: Pest death follows within 2 to 4 days.

  • Ovi-Larvicidal & Translaminar Activity: Eliminates insect eggs upon direct contact and kills hatching neonate larvae before they bore into stems, buds, or fruits. Its translaminar action allows it to penetrate through the upper leaf surface to target pests hiding on the underside.

Crop Usage & Spectrum of Control

  • Vegetable Crops (Tomato, Okra, Chilli, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Capsicum):

    • Target Pests: Fruit borer (Helicoverpa armigera), shoot and fruit borer (Earias vittella, Leucinodes orbonalis), diamondback moth (DBM), tobacco caterpillar (Spodoptera litura), and leaf miners.

    • Benefits: Prevents premature fruit shedding, stops internal tunneling, and ensures high-grade, blemish-free vegetables.

  • Commercial & Cash Crops (Cotton, Soybean, Groundnut, Sugarcane, Pulses):

    • Target Pests: American bollworm, spotted bollworm, Spodoptera caterpillars, semiloopers, pod borers (Helicoverpa), and early shoot borers.

    • Benefits: Safeguards flowering squares, flower buds, pods, and bolls, ensuring maximum yield retention.

  • Fruit & Plantation Crops (Pomegranate, Citrus, Grapes, Mango, Guava):

    • Target Pests: Fruit-boring caterpillars, anar butterfly (Virachola isocrates), leaf folders, and shoot borers.

  • Horticulture & Floriculture (Roses, Marigold, Carnation, Gerbera):

    • Target Pests: Budworms, loopers, and blossom-feeding caterpillars that spoil flower head quality.

Recommended Dosage & Mixing Guidelines

Because of its concentrated 35% WDG formulation, Corprima requires a low application rate:

Application Scale

Recommended Dosage

Water Volume

Coverage

Knapsack Sprayer (Manual / Battery)

3 g to 5 g per 15-liter pump (approx. 0.2 g – 0.3 g per liter of water)

15 Liters

Spot / Foliar

Broad Field Spray (Acre Basis)

28 g to 34 g per acre (approx. 70–85 g per hectare)

150 – 200 Liters of water

1 Acre

Best Time to Spray

  • Growth Stage: Apply at the first appearance of adult moth activity, egg-laying, or early larval emergence (before caterpillars bore inside the fruit or stem). In fruiting vegetables (like tomato and okra), initiating spray at the flower-to-early-fruiting transition window offers optimal preventive control.

  • Time of Day: Spray during the early morning (before 9:30 AM) or late afternoon / early evening to avoid rapid droplet evaporation from direct, intense sunlight.

  • Weather Factors: Spray under calm wind conditions to prevent drift. Ensure rain-free weather for at least 2–4 hours after spraying for adequate translaminar uptake.

Safety Precautions & Handling

  • Personal Protective Gear (PPE): Wear long-sleeved clothing, chemical-resistant nitrile gloves, safety goggles, and a face mask while measuring, mixing, and applying.

  • Pre-Mix Preparation: Completely dissolve the required granules in a small plastic container with 2–3 liters of clean water to form a smooth pre-mix. Add this pre-solution to the half-filled spray tank and agitate while topping up with water.

  • Tank Compatibility: Compatible with most standard neutral insecticides, fungicides, and foliar nutrients. Do not mix with strongly alkaline solutions such as Bordeaux mixture or lime sulphur. Always perform a simple jar test before combining tank partners.
