Bayer Council Active is an advanced, selective early post-emergence herbicide formulated with Triafamone 20% + Ethoxysulfuron 10% WG (Water Dispersible Granules). It combines two powerful active ingredients that act as Acetolactate Synthase (ALS) inhibitors, offering broad-spectrum weed control by halting essential amino acid synthesis in weeds.
Key Product Features & Benefits
Dual Action Chemistry: Triafamone and Ethoxysulfuron are rapidly absorbed by weed leaves and roots, shutting down targeted enzyme production.
Broad-Spectrum Control: Efficiently eliminates a wide variety of troublesome grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in a single application.
WG Formulation: High-quality water-dispersible granules dissolve smoothly, ensuring uniform mixing and easy field spraying.
High Crop Selectivity: Specifically engineered to provide robust weed elimination while ensuring superior crop safety for rice.
Important Note on Crop Usage
Please note: Unlike general insecticides, Bayer Council Active is a specialized herbicide registered exclusively for Rice cultivation (including both transplanted rice and wet direct-seeded rice / DSR). It is not designed or labeled for general use across commercial row crops, vegetables, fruits, or horticulture orchards, and applying it to non-target crops can cause severe phytotoxicity.
Crop-Wise Dosage and Application Table
Crop Category | Recommended Crop | Target Weeds Controlled | Dosage per Acre | Dilution Rate / Water Volume |
Cereal / Rice Crops | Rice (Transplanted & Wet Direct-Seeded / DSR) | Grasses (Echinochloa species), Sedges (Cyperus rotundus, Cyperus difformis, Fimbristylis), and Broadleaf weeds (Marsilea, etc.) | 90 grams per acre | Mix thoroughly in approx. 150 to 200 litres of water for uniform coverage |
Other Crops (Vegetables, Fruits, Horticulture) | Not Recommended | Do not apply outside of rice systems to avoid severe crop damage and loss. | — | — |
Best Time to Spray
Application Window: Apply at the early post-emergence stage (ideally when weeds are at the 2 to 4 leaf stage, or roughly 8 to 15 days after transplanting/sowing).
Field Moisture Management: Drain standing water completely from the field before spraying. Ensure the soil has adequate moisture during application, and re-introduce/maintain soil moisture for 10 days following the spray to activate residual soil activity. Avoid spraying during high winds or heavy rainfall.
Safety Precautions
Personal Protection: Always wear chemical-resistant gloves, protective clothing, a face mask, and eye protection during mixing and application.
Handling Protocols: Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product. Avoid inhaling spray mists or direct skin/eye contact.
Drift Control: Prevent spray drift from moving into adjacent non-target fields or water bodies.
Storage: Store securely in its original, tightly sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space, completely locked away from children, livestock, and food items.
