Dhanuka Decide is a powerful, broad-spectrum insecticide formulated as Water Dispersible Granules (WG). It features a unique combination of two active ingredients—Etofenprox (6%) and Diafenthiuron (25%)—making it highly effective against a variety of stubborn sucking and chewing pests.
## Technical Composition & Mode of Action
Decide works through a dual mode of action, providing both immediate results and long-term protection:
Etofenprox (6%): A non-pyrethroid compound that acts on the insect’s nervous system, leading to rapid paralysis and a "knockdown" effect.
Diafenthiuron (25%): Inhibits mitochondrial respiration and energy metabolism, which effectively stops the pest from feeding and reproducing.
Translaminar Action: The medicine penetrates the leaf surface, moving from the upper side to the lower side. This is crucial because pests like mites and thrips often hide underneath the leaves.
## Target Crops & Pests
While highly versatile, Decide is most commonly recommended for high-value vegetable and fiber crops.
Crop | Target Pests |
Chilli | Thrips, Mites, and Whiteflies |
Tomato | Whiteflies, Thrips, and Jassids |
Cotton | Aphids, Jassids, and Whiteflies |
Soybean | Whiteflies and Girdle Beetle (often used for sucking pest complex) |
## Key Benefits
Broad-Spectrum Control: Effectively manages multiple types of pests (mites and insects) with a single spray.
Rainfastness: Once dried, it adheres well to the foliage and is not easily washed away by rain.
Flower & Fruit Safety: It is known to protect the reproductive parts of the plant, often resulting in better fruit setting and higher yields.
IPM Friendly: Its unique chemistry makes it a great tool for Integrated Pest Management to prevent pests from developing resistance to older chemicals.
## Recommended Dosage & Application
For optimal results, follow these application guidelines:
Standard Dosage: 500 grams per acre.
Water Volume: Mix the dosage in 200 liters of water to ensure thorough coverage of the canopy.
Timing: Apply at the early stages of pest infestation. Early morning or late evening is the best time for spraying to avoid high temperatures and protect beneficial pollinators.
Safety Note: Always wear protective clothing, gloves, and a mask during application. Store the product in a cool, dry place away from food and reach of children.
