Syngenta Evicent is a highly advanced, next-generation, broad-spectrum insecticide formulated specifically to tackle tough, hard-to-kill chewing pests. Known as "The Smart Insecticide," it is powered by Syngenta's patented formulation technologies to deliver complete, long-lasting control over highly destructive caterpillar complexes at all life stages.

Technical Overview

• Active Ingredients: Emamectin Benzoate (5% w/w) + Lufenuron (40% w/w) WG.

• Formulation: WG (Water Dispersible Granules) featuring Pepite™ Technology—a dust-free, micro-granular formulation that instantly dissolves like a liquid when added to water.

• Mode of Action (Dual-Action Knockdown & Growth Regulator):

  • Emamectin Benzoate (The Paralyser): Rapidly acts on the insect's nervous system, causing immediate muscle contraction and paralysis. Target pests stop feeding on the crop within 1 to 2 hours of contact or ingestion.

  • Lufenuron (The Growth Inhibitor): Acts as an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) by blocking chitin synthesis. Pests are unable to molt (shed their skin) to grow into their next life stage, leading to mortality within 12 to 24 hours.

Crop-Specific Uses & Dosages

For standard application, dissolve the recommended dose in 200 liters of water per acre and spray uniformly across the foliage.

Application Best Practices

• Timing: Apply at the very first sign of pest infestation (Economic Threshold Level) or during the peak egg-laying phase to leverage its ovicidal and early larval knockdown strengths.

• Spray Quality: Ensure complete coverage of the canopy. For Maize, target the spray down into the whorl (funnel) of the plant where Fall Armyworms love to hide.

• Environmental Caution: Emamectin Benzoate is highly toxic to bees and aquatic organisms. Avoid spraying when honeybees are actively foraging in the early afternoon, and ensure the chemical does not drift into neighboring water channels. Always wear protective gloves and a face mask.
