Key Benefits
Effective Mite Management: It is a "gold standard" for managing mite infestations in Chilli and Tea plantations.
Broad-Spectrum: Reduces the need for multiple products by targeting both insects and mites simultaneously.
Compatibility: It can be mixed with most common fungicides and insecticides (except those with alkaline nature like Bordeaux mixture).
Resistance Breaker: Highly effective against pests that have developed resistance to other chemical groups like synthetic pyrethroids.
Application Instructions
Preparation: Mix the required quantity of Fosmite with a small amount of water to form a primary emulsion, then add the rest of the water while stirring.
Coverage: Use a sufficient volume of water (200–400 litres per acre depending on the crop) to ensure complete coverage of the foliage, especially the undersides of leaves where mites typically reside.
Application Timing: Spray at the first appearance of pests. For mites, a follow-up spray after 10–12 days may be necessary to break the life cycle.
Safety Precautions
Protective Wear: Ethion is a potent chemical; always wear gloves, boots, a face mask, and goggles during handling and spraying.
Environment: Avoid spraying near water bodies as it is toxic to fish.
Honeybees: Toxic to bees; do not spray during the active flowering stage when pollinators are present.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place in the original container, strictly out of reach of children and away from food and animal feed.
Waiting Period (PHI): Strictly follow the Pre-Harvest Interval (e.g., 7–15 days for most crops) to ensure no harmful residues remain on the produce.
