Bayer Laudis is an advanced, selective post-emergence systemic herbicide containing Tembotrione 34.4% SC (Suspension Concentrate). It belongs to the triketone chemical family (HPPD inhibitor group) and works by blocking carotenoid biosynthesis in weeds, which causes rapid chlorophyll bleaching, cessation of growth, and eventual plant death.
Key Product Features & Benefits
Post-Emergence Control: Rapidly knocks out actively growing weeds after they have sprouted.
Broad-Spectrum Action: Efficiently manages both troublesome grassy and broadleaf weeds.
High Crop Safety: Highly selective formula that clears out competing weeds without harming the main crop when applied at recommended rates.
Rain-Fastness: Quickly absorbed by foliage, becoming rain-fast within roughly 2 hours of application.
Important Note on Crop Usage
Please note: Unlike broad-spectrum insecticides, Bayer Laudis is a specialized herbicide officially registered and safe exclusively for Maize (Corn / Field Corn / Sweet Corn). It is not labeled or intended for use across all general crops (such as vegetables, fruits, or horticulture crops), as applying it to non-target crops can cause severe crop injury.
Crop-Wise Dosage and Application Table
Crop Category | Target Crop | Target Weeds Controlled | Recommended Dosage per Acre | Dilution Rate (per Litre of Water) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Commercial / Cereal Crops | Maize (Field Corn, Seed Corn, Sweet Corn) | Broadleaf weeds (Amaranthus, etc.) & Grassy weeds (Echinochloa, Digitaria, etc.) | 115 ml per acre (Always mix with a recommended non-ionic surfactant or MSO adjuvant) | Approx. 0.5 to 1 ml per litre of water (based on 150–200 L water/acre total volume) |
Other Crops (Vegetables, Fruits, Horticulture) | Not Recommended | Do not apply to vegetables, orchards, or horticulture crops to avoid severe phytotoxicity and crop loss. | — | — |
Best Time to Spray
Weed Growth Stage: Apply when weeds are young and actively growing, ideally at the 2 to 4 leaf stage.
Weather Windows: Spray during the early morning or late evening when temperatures are moderate. Avoid spraying during intense heat (>35°C), high winds (to prevent drift onto neighboring sensitive crops), or if rain is expected within 2 hours.
Safety Precautions
Adjuvant Requirement: Always use Laudis with a recommended non-ionic surfactant or methylated seed oil (MSO) as specified on the label to ensure optimal leaf absorption.
Protective Gear: Always wear full protective clothing, rubber gloves, eye protection, and a face mask while mixing and applying.
Handling Rules: Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product. Avoid inhaling spray mists or direct contact with skin and eyes.
Drift Management: Avoid drift onto adjacent fields or non-target crops, as Tembotrione drift can severely damage other vegetation.
Storage: Store securely in its original, tightly sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location away from children, livestock, food, and animal feed.
