FMC Marshal (Carbosulfan 25% EC) is a broad-spectrum, systemic, contact, and stomach action insecticide belonging to the carbamate chemical family. It provides rapid knockdown and prolonged residual control over stubborn chewing, boring, and sap-sucking insect pests across field, commercial, vegetable, and horticultural crops.

Technical Overview & Mode of Action

  • Active Ingredient: Carbosulfan 25% EC (Emulsifiable Concentrate)

  • Chemical Group: Carbamate (IRAC Group 1A)

  • Mode of Action: Acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor. Marshal acts as a pro-insecticide; inside the pest, it converts into active carbofuran, disrupting nerve impulse transmission. This leads to rapid paralysis, feeding cessation, and pest mortality.

  • Systemic & Contact Dual Action: Enters plant vascular systems to combat hidden borers and hoppers while simultaneously killing target pests that come into direct contact with the spray mist or feed on treated leaf surfaces.

Best Time and Conditions to Spray

  • Spray Window: Apply during early morning hours (6:00 AM – 9:00 AM) or late evening (4:30 PM – 6:30 PM). Avoid middle-of-the-day spraying when temperatures are high to prevent rapid solvent evaporation.

    AgriBegri+ 1

  • Application Stage: Apply at the very first signs of pest appearance or when nymph/larval counts hit the Economic Threshold Level (ETL).

    AgriBegri

  • Nozzle & Placement Technique:

  • For Rice (Hoppers): Direct spray nozzles toward the plant base near the waterline where hoppers congregate.

    AgriBegri

  • For Foliar pests: Use hollow cone nozzles to achieve micro-droplet coverage on both the upper and lower surfaces of leaves.
