Tata Rallis Panida Grande is an advanced, selective pre-emergence herbicide powered by Pendimethalin 38.7% CS (Capsule Suspension). Formulated with microencapsulation technology, the active ingredient is released slowly and steadily, creating a prolonged chemical barrier on the soil surface that halts the emergence of both annual grasses and key broadleaf weeds.
Key Technical Details
Active Ingredient: Pendimethalin 38.7% CS (Capsule Suspension)
Chemical Family: Dinitroaniline
Mode of Action: HRAC Group 3 (Microtubule assembly inhibition). It stops cell division and cell
elongation in the root and shoot meristems of germinating weed seeds, preventing seedling emergence.
Capsule Suspension (CS) Advantage: Unlike conventional 30% EC formulations, the CS technology significantly reduces photodegradation (breakdown by sunlight), minimizes volatility losses, causes zero soil staining, and extends weed control duration up to 40–50 days.
Target Weeds Controlled
Annual Grasses: Echinochloa spp. (Barnyard grass), Eleusine indica (Goosegrass), Digitaria sanguinalis (Crabgrass), Setaria spp., Dactyloctenium aegyptium.
Broadleaf Weeds: Portulaca oleracea (Purslane), Amaranthus viridis, Chenopodium album, Euphorbia hirta, Trianthema portulacastrum, Digera arvensis.
Crop Application & Dosage Chart
Panida Grande is primarily applied as a pre-emergence soil spray within 24 to 72 hours after sowing/transplanting, before crop and weed seeds germinate.
Crop Category | Crops | Recommended Dosage (per Acre) | Water Volume (per Acre) | Application Timing |
Commercial Crops | Cotton, Soybean, Groundnut, Mustard | 600 – 700 ml | 150 – 200 Liters | Pre-emergence: Within 24–48 hours of sowing (before crop emerges). |
Cereal & Grain Crops | Wheat, Rice/Paddy (Direct Seeded / Nursery) | 600 – 700 ml | 150 – 200 Liters | Pre-emergence: 0–3 days after sowing. |
Vegetable Crops | Onion, Garlic, Chilli, Tomato, Cabbage, Cauliflower | 600 – 700 ml | 150 – 200 Liters | Pre-plant incorporation or 1–2 days prior to transplanting / right after transplanting before weeds emerge. |
Pulses & Legumes | Chickpea (Gram), Pigeon Pea (Tur), Black Gram, Green Gram | 500 – 600 ml | 150 – 200 Liters | Pre-emergence: Within 48 hours of sowing. |
Fruits & Plantation | Banana, Pomegranate, Citrus, Grapes | 700 – 800 ml | 200 – 250 Liters | Directed spray on clean, moist inter-row soil beds prior to weed emergence. |
Per-liter dosage calculation for manual knapsack sprayers: 3.5 – 4.5 ml per liter of water.
Optimal Spray Timing & Application Guidelines
Adequate Soil Moisture is Critical: The soil surface must have sufficient moisture at the time of spray. Dry soil prevents uniform activation of the chemical barrier. Irrigate or spray right after soaking rainfall/sowing.
Strict Pre-Emergence Window: Apply within 24 to 72 hours after sowing or transplanting. If weed seedlings have already emerged through the soil, Panida Grande will not control them (it works on germinating seeds, not established plants).
Flat-Fan / FloodJet Nozzle: Always use a FloodJet or Flat-Fan nozzle for uniform, blanket ground coverage. Do not use hollow-cone nozzles meant for foliage insect sprays.
Field Preparation: The field should have a fine tilth, free of large clods and thick trash/crop residue, ensuring the herbicide forms an unbroken chemical seal over the top layer.
Do Not Disturb Soil Post-Spray: Avoid inter-cultivation, hoeing, or weeding for 30–40 days after application, as breaking the soil crust disrupts the herbicide barrier.
Safety Precautions & Handling
Personal Protective Gear (PPE): Wear impermeable nitrile or rubber gloves, eye goggles, a face mask, and full-sleeved work clothing while handling and spraying.
