Tata Rallis Summit is an advanced, green-chemistry insecticide containing Spinetoram 11.7% SC (Suspension Concentrate). It belongs to the Spinosyn chemical class (naturally derived via bacterial fermentation of Saccharopolyspora spinosa) and functions under IRAC Group 5.
It provides dual-action pest knockdown via contact and ingestion (stomach action), combined with rapid translaminar penetration. This allows the active ingredient to penetrate through leaf surfaces, effectively reaching cryptic pests (such as thrips and leaf miners) sheltered on the undersides of leaves. Exposed insects exhibit an immediate "stop-feeding" effect, preventing further crop damage within minutes and succumbing to paralysis shortly after.
Crop Usage & Recommended Dosage
Summit is used at very low active ingredient concentrations. Use clean water to ensure complete, uniform canopy coverage.
Crop Category | Key Crops | Major Target Pests | Dosage per Liter | Dosage per Acre | Water Volume |

Vegetable Crops | Chilli, Tomato, Capsicum, Brinjal, Cabbage, Okra | Thrips (including black thrips), Fruit Borer, Diamondback Moth (DBM), Pinworm | 0.8 – 1.0 ml | 160 – 180 ml | 150 – 200 L |
Fruit & Horticulture Crops | Grapes, Pomegranate, Citrus, Mango, Flowers (Rose, Marigold) | Thrips, Fruit Borer, Berry Borer, Inflorescence Caterpillars, Leaf Miners | 0.9 – 1.0 ml | 180 – 200 ml | 200 – 300 L |
Best Time to Spray
Daily Window: Apply during late afternoon or evening (after 4:30 PM). This window protects active day-flying pollinators (honeybees) and minimizes ultraviolet degradation of the spray solution. Early morning (before 8:30 AM) is acceptable if evening spraying is not feasible.
Crop & Pest Stage: Spray at the very first sign of pest emergence (at or just before reaching economic threshold levels). For Fall Armyworm in maize, direct nozzles straight into the leaf whorls during early larval stages (12–40 days after emergence).
Weather & Rainfastness: Do not spray during windy conditions. Summit exhibits excellent rainfastness once dried on the foliage (typically within 2 to 4 hours post-application).
Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI): Maintain a waiting period of 3 to 7 days before harvesting edible fruits and vegetables (depending on specific local crop guidelines).
Safety Precautions
Pollinator Protection (Bee Safety): Spinetoram is toxic to honeybees on direct contact during spraying, but toxicity drops significantly once the spray dries on the crop canopy. Avoid spraying during peak active bee foraging hours and on open blooms visited by pollinators.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear a long-sleeved shirt, chemical-resistant rubber gloves, safety goggles, and a protective face mask while handling and applying.
Mixing Protocol: Shake the bottle thoroughly before measuring. Pre-mix the required dose with a small volume of water to create a slurry before diluting into the full spray tank.
Resistance Management: Do not apply more than two consecutive sprays of Spinetoram in a season. Alternate with chemistries possessing different modes of action (e.g., diamides, pyrroles, or avermectins) and do not tank-mix with other Group 5 Spinosyns.
Aquatic Safety: Keep spray drift and rinse water away from fish ponds, aquaculture tanks, canals, and natural waterways.
Post-Application Hygiene & Disposal: Never eat, drink, or smoke during application. Wash hands and face thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Triple-rinse, puncture, and safely discard empty containers according to local hazardous packaging rules.
