TagPro (Profenofos 50% EC) is a broad-spectrum, non-systemic organophosphate insecticide and acaricide designed to manage chewing caterpillars, borers, and sucking pests. Its emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation provides fast contact and stomach toxicity with translaminar penetration and ovicidal properties.
Mode of Action Profenofos acts as a potent acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor. By blocking acetylcholine breakdown in the pest's nervous system, it leads to rapid hyperexcitation, paralysis, and death upon direct contact, ingestion, or egg exposure.
Target Crops & Major Pest Control
Cotton: Controls American bollworm (Helicoverpa armigera), pink bollworm, spotted bollworm, tobacco caterpillar (Spodoptera litura), whiteflies, aphids, and thrips.
Soybean & Pulses (Pigeonpea/Redgram, Bengal Gram): Controls pod borers, semi-loopers, girdle beetles, and leaf miners.
Chilli & Vegetables (Tomato, Brinjal, Cabbage, Okra): Controls fruit and shoot borers, diamondback moth (DBM), cutworms, thrips, and mites.

Dosage & Application Guidelines
Foliar Spray: 350–500 ml per acre (approx. 2–2.5 ml per liter of water / 30–40 ml per 15 L knapsack sprayer pump).
Water Volume: Mix thoroughly in 150–200 liters of water per acre for even canopy coverage.
Timing: Apply at the initial appearance of pests or egg-laying activity.
Precautions & Safety Measures
PPE Requirements: Wear chemical-resistant gloves, a respirator mask, protective eyewear, and full-length workwear during handling and mixing.
Environmental & Pollinator Hazard: Toxic to honeybees and aquatic life. Avoid spraying during peak pollination hours and prevent spray drift into water bodies.
Application Conditions: Do not apply during extreme midday heat or against strong winds.
Waiting Period (PHI): Maintain a pre-harvest interval of 14–20 days depending on the target crop to prevent chemical residues.
Storage & Antidote: Keep locked in original packaging away from children, food, and animal feed. In case of accidental poisoning, seek medical attention immediately; Atropine sulphate and 2-PAM serve as standard medical antidotes under clinical supervision
