Tata Rallis Takumi is a modern, high-potency lepidopteran specialist insecticide containing Flubendiamide 20% WG / WDG (Water Dispersible Granules). It belongs to the Diamide chemical class (Ryanodine Receptor Modulators – IRAC Group 28).
Tata Rallis Takumi (Flubendiamide 20% WG). Source: HD Agro Chemicals
Takumi acts primarily through ingestion (stomach action) and secondary contact, accompanied by strong translaminar movement through foliage. It selectively binds to ryanodine receptors in insect muscle cells, causing uncontrolled release of intracellular calcium. This results in an immediate cessation of feeding (within minutes), muscle contraction, lethargy, paralysis, and complete mortality within 2 to 3 days.
Because it specifically targets caterpillars and borers, Takumi exhibits high selectivity—offering strong safety margins for non-target beneficial predators, parasitoids, and pollinators when dry.
Crop Usage & Recommended Dosage
Flubendiamide 20% WG is formulated as dry micro-granules that dissolve rapidly and completely in water without leaving residues or clogging spray nozzles.

Best Time to Spray
Daily Timing: Apply during early morning (before 9:00 AM) or late afternoon/evening (after 4:30 PM) to avoid extreme heat and ensure good foliar coverage.
Crop & Pest Stage: For best results, spray at egg hatch or during early instar larval stages (1st to 3rd instar) before caterpillars bore deep into fruits, pods, bolls, or stems:
Rice: Spray at 30–35 days after transplanting (DAT) or at early visible white-earhead/deadheart symptoms.
Pulses & Vegetables: Spray at flower-bud initiation or earliest fruit set when young larvae begin feeding.
Rainfastness: Takumi provides strong rainfastness once dried on the canopy—it withstands rain occurring within 2 to 3 hours after application.
Pre-Harvest Interval (PHI):
Rice & Pulses: 10 to 14 days
Vegetables & Cotton: 5 to 7 days
Safety Precautions
Preparation & Mixing: Pre-dissolve the measured granules in a small jug of water to form a uniform slurry before pouring it into the main spray tank. Never dump dry granules directly into an unfilled tank.
Personal Protective Gear (PPE): Wear a protective face mask, safety goggles, rubber gloves, and long-sleeved overalls during measuring and spraying.
Resistance Management: Flubendiamide is a Group 28 Diamide. To avoid pest resistance, do not apply more than twice per cropping season. Rotate consecutive sprays with chemistries belonging to alternate modes of action (e.g., Spinetoram, Chlorfenapyr, or Indoxacarb).
Beneficials & Pollinators: Although safer for adult beneficials than broad-spectrum organophosphates, avoid direct overspray on active blooming flowers when honeybees are actively foraging.
