Tata Rallis Tata Mida is a systemic insecticide formulated as Imidacloprid 17.8% SL (Soluble Liquid). Belonging to the neonicotinoid chemical class (IRAC Group 4A), it is one of the most widely utilized and trusted chemistries for controlling devastating sap-sucking pests and soil-dwelling insects like termites.

Mode of Action: Systemic Neurotransmission Disruption

  • Targeting Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptors (nAChR): Imidacloprid mimics acetylcholine, binding irreversibly to postsynaptic nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the insect’s central nervous system.

  • Rapid Knockdown & Feeding Cessation: This continuous binding causes prolonged hyper-excitation, convulsions, paralysis, and death. Target insects stop feeding and transmitting viral pathogens within hours of exposure.

  • Acropeptal & Translaminar Systemicity: Readily absorbed through foliage, stems, and root zones, moving upward via xylem vessels to safeguard actively growing shoots, tender flushes, and new foliage that emerges after spraying.

Crop Spectrum, Target Pests & Recommended Dosages

Tata Mida operates at low active-ingredient dosages and is versatile across foliar spraying, seed treatment, and soil drenching.

Optimal Spray Timing and Application Guidelines

  • Early Intervention: Spray at the economic threshold level (ETL) or at the very initial sighting of sucking pest colonies (curling leaf margins, honeydew excretion, or silvering of leaves from thrips) before severe viral infection sets in.

  • Time of Day: Apply during the early morning (before 10:00 AM) or late evening (after 4:30 PM). Avoid applying under harsh midday sunlight and high temperatures to minimize volatilization and protect diurnal non-target insects.

  • Target Foliage Coverage: Direct the spray toward the undersides of leaves and growing tips where aphids, whitefly nymphs, and thrips congregate.

  • Water Volume: Ensure adequate water (150–200 liters per acre for field/vegetable crops; 300–500+ liters per acre for fruit orchards) to secure complete, uniform plant wetting.

Key Safety & Handling Precautions

  • Pollinator Warning (Extremely Toxic to Honeybees):

Imidacloprid is highly toxic to honeybees and other foraging pollinators. Do not spray during full bloom / active flowering. If application is essential during flowering phases, apply strictly after dusk when bees have returned to their hives.

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear chemical-resistant nitrile gloves, a protective face mask/respirator, goggles, and long-sleeved work clothing during measuring, mixing, and application.

  • Aquatic Caution: Toxic to aquatic invertebrates and aquatic life. Maintain a protective buffer zone around farm ponds, irrigation canals, and fish tanks. Never wash spray equipment or dump surplus solution into open water bodies.
