FMC Tirracto is an advanced premix insecticide formulation combining Chlorantraniliprole 15.75% + Clothianidin 26.25% SC (Suspension Concentrate). It pairs two distinct chemistries to deliver comprehensive, long-lasting dual control against chewing lepidopteran borers and subterranean/sucking insect pests in high-value commercial, vegetable, fruit, and field crops.
Technical Composition & Dual Mode of Action
Chlorantraniliprole 15.75% (Anthranilic Diamide - Group 28): Powered by Rynaxypyr® technology, it binds to insect ryanodine receptors, triggering uncontrolled internal calcium release. This causes rapid muscle contraction, immediate cessation of insect feeding, paralysis, and pest mortality.
Clothianidin 26.25% (Neonicotinoid - Group 4A): A high-potency systemic agent acting on central nervous system nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR). It disrupts neural transmission, ensuring rapid knockdown of soil-dwelling pests and stubborn sucking complexes.
Combined Benefit: Together, they deliver systemic and translaminar activity that protects roots, shoots, stems, and foliage while offering exceptional residual control.
Crop Usage & Spectrum of Control
Commercial & Cash Crops (Sugarcane, Cotton, Soybean, Groundnut):
Target Pests: Early shoot borer, top shoot borer, stalk borer, termites, white grubs, root grubs, and leaf caterpillars.
Benefits: Safeguards setts and seedlings during germination, promotes uniform crop establishment, and increases productive tillers.
Vegetable Crops (Tomato, Chilli, Brinjal, Okra, Cabbage):
Target Pests: Fruit borers (Helicoverpa), shoot and fruit borers, diamondback moth (DBM), cutworms, and root-feeding white grubs.
Benefits: Prevents early seedling cutting and internal fruit tunneling to safeguard market grade.
Fruit & Plantation Crops (Pomegranate, Citrus, Grapes, Mango):
Target Pests: Stem borers, bark borers, root grubs, and fruit-boring caterpillars.
Horticulture & Floriculture:
Target Pests: Cutworms, budworms, and soil insects damaging bulbs and root zones.
Recommended Dosage & Application Methods
Application Method | Target Crops / Stage | Recommended Dosage | Water Volume |
Sett Treatment / Furrow Drenching | Sugarcane (at planting / early stage) | 200 ml – 250 ml per acre | 400 – 500 Liters (soil zone saturation) |
Foliar Spray | Vegetables, Cotton, Pulses (vegetative / early borer onset) | 60 ml – 80 ml per acre (0.4 – 0.5 ml per liter of water) | 150 – 200 Liters per acre |
Root Drenching / Drip Application | High-value Vegetables, Fruit crops, Nurseries | 150 ml – 200 ml per acre | Applied through drip or drench around collar region |
Ideal Application Timing
Furrow / Drenching (Soil Pests & Early Borers): Apply at planting time directly over seed setts/seedbed or drench near the root collar during the early vegetative window when soil insects (termites, white grubs) and early shoot borers emerge.
Foliar Application: Apply at early pest detection or at peak moth egg-laying before caterpillars penetrate deep into stems or fruit tissues.
Time of Day: For foliar use, spray in the early morning or late afternoon. Ensure adequate soil moisture is present when using soil drench methods to facilitate systemic root uptake.
Safety Precautions & Handling
Protective Wear: Always wear chemical-resistant gloves, a face shield or mask, and protective clothing during measuring, mixing, and application.
Soil Health & Moisture: For soil or furrow application, ensure the soil has sufficient moisture or follow up with light irrigation to help the active ingredients mobilize into the root zone without leaching.
Tank-Mix Protocol: Shake the bottle thoroughly before measuring. Prepare a uniform pre-slurry in a small bucket of water before adding to the primary tank. Avoid tank-mixing with strongly alkaline agrochemicals.
Pollinator Awareness: Clothianidin is toxic to bees. Avoid spraying flowering crops during peak pollinator foraging hours.
Storage & Hygiene: Store in original packaging in a cool, well-ventilated space locked away from food, animal feed, and children. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly
